Don't "budge" on your budgeting
Budgeting takes some discipline and it's not for the weary hearted. It can help you crack down on "small-things," that can cost you big time in the long run and it can also cause problems between marriage partners.
It might not do you any good, especially since most fights of married couples are over finances! Check out how you can avoid the fights and instead build the riches without having to use one by visiting the
"how to save"
page.
If you do decide to go the "budge" route, one of the greatest things our era has to offer is everything can be done...ONLINE! That's how I keep track of everything. 1 checking account, 1 credit card, energy bills, mortgages & loans, etc, etc. And if you purchase a program such as Quicken, then it makes it all that more easy for you.
Also, speaking of energy bills. I wasn't sure on where to mention this, but I figured it would do good here. By trying to cut back on your utilities, you can reel in a little extra cash at the end of each month. Turn off lights (NO, leaving them on doesn't save energy, I saw that on mythbusters!), limit your water usage (ex: when brushing teeth, or taking a shower more than 30min.), don't run the heat or A/C when it isn't necessary...etc.
Just some tips I have learned down the road.
