It's All About Me, It's All About I...
It's about me, didn't you know that? Well, no not really. There's a fruit basket full to tell but I will mention only relevent key facts to this site that will help you put a face with the name. My name is Ryan. I'm happily married and we are doing well financially. We have about a $600 disposable income a month as of 10/24/2008. No kids as of yet. We reside in the great Midwest and have family spread abroad, but most of them are around us.
I come from a very normal (to me anyways) American background. My Dad and Mom taught me how to work and to practice the wisdom God has given me. We lived with the mind set of helping others and to work hard and figure it out for ourselves. Dad manages a wholesale distribution center for contractors, plumbers, heat & air, electricians, lumber yards..so if we're fixing up a house, we get parts at a good price. Mom is a licensed practical nurse and helps out with remodels and rehabs when we have one.
My in laws are more of the schooling and prestige side. Money and politics is the playground for them. So I get a good mix. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher (for now) and I am currently in college for nursing (RN). So when I look at our financial outlook and see how good we're doing NOW, I can't wait until later on when financial freedom will be achieved!
It's sad to look around and examine our situation and then to look at friends and aquaintances who make way more $$$ and they are in debt up to their eyeballs and are struggling just to survive. I have learned that it's not how much you make, but how you handle it!!!
I have friends and family from both sides of the job pool. Blue collar to white collar. So to stay in the know about the economy and what's happening around us, all it takes me is a dinner or get together. My family all together consists of plumbers, doctors, lawyers, financial planners, financial analysts, nurses, teachers, managers, accountants, ministers...and the list goes on.
Now enough about me. I want to encourage you to utilize what you have available. Don't sell yourself short. You can easily attain financial success if you are willing to sacrafice today's desires for tomorrows dreams!
